Sunglasses for Drivers

For many drivers sunglasses are a fashion accessory rather than a means of protection from bright sunlight. This is according to an insurance company «Sheilas Wheels» study, which produced a survey of about 1,000 women drivers. Questioning revealed that over 80% of drivers surveyed chose sunglasses which are not suitable for driving. Using unsuitable sunglasses is just as dangerous as driving a car without any glasses in the bright sunlight.

It is very dangerous to drive a car if the sunglasses lenses are blue or pink (very popular color for women), as these lenses shades may discolor objects.

It is also important to not limit peripheral vision with massive temples.

A person should not drive in sunglasses with lenses which have very dark black lenses, the use of such sunglasses drastically reduces visibility.

The most suitable sunglasses for comfortable driving are models which are similare to the "Aviator" style with thin temples and polarized lenses.
